anyone with previous experience would be appreciated, the question is pretty straightorward. I have naturally curly hair, don't know if i should straighten it before doing a prom do, or just leave it as is.

strait and at lest one day old hair.. meaning dont go with clean hair to get it done. let it be 1 or 2 days dirty..

straighten it. Just don't work about how straight it gets, because if it's super straight it comes out easier.

I think that this choice is really up to you, however, to keep the curl but to make the up-do easier, i would straighten just towards the roots so it is easier to pull back and you won't have to slop on as much hairspray to keep all the little frizzies down, and the further down you straighten it, it will be easier to put bobby pins in. But be careful, don't go too far down, or you may have to re-curl some areas that came out straight that are supposed to be curly. Btw have fun at prom!

OK u need 2 think about these things, and o, I'm a hairdresser.
what is the weather like or going 2 be like that nite? r u going 2 b dancing like crazy or laid back.
where I'm going w this is- if u straighten nat. curly hair,and i don't need 2 tell u this, but it will frizz or get lumpy if u sweat.
so check your environment and activities. if its hot humid and u r dancing like a fool, go with a curly style
if u are in lots of a/c and don't get all sweaty when u dance- go sleek.
next- your dress- what does it look like? If it is a tailored or streamline look- go smooth
if it's fuller-softer-bows n such- be naturally curly. but don't b a tumble weed.
