Well, I want curly hair. My hair is black\really thick\curly. It's 2 inches long right now. I'm male.

with a short hair style its hard to curl hair with a curling iron, and by schrunching it, so the only way i no is to perm it. Nobody will have to know! Plus, its not a bad thing. I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend permed his hair.

I know you said no perms, however I'm a male that is in the same position. I have had several perms over the past few years. It works well. Believe me, I don't like the thought of it to this day (embarrasment) but I really do like the style and control with a perm. Most people think its natural.
