It's just something everyone does. The whole "the grass is greener over there" thing. I have strait hair and love it! It's also thick, but I don't want it thin. Sometimes though I wish it could wave. I don't really know, just some weird self-image thing.
Why is it that if you have curly hair you want it straight and if you have straight hair you want it curly ?
To say it is human nature is in many ways to be spot-on while also being over-simple. As humans we have an inherent desire or "drive" to change... for the betterment of human kind. However, in our quest for self-improvement as a species, we get stuck at the very basic of levels and we do not see past our personal "selves" in any meaningful way. What we choose is subjective at best and limited at worse. We want nicer hair, better cars, more friends, and on and on. External things, material things, but not inherent things. We are, simply stated, simple. Too bad... for us.
